Romanian Wedding Cultures

A bridal is one of the few instances when romanian people definitely go all out and dress up. Fancy suits for men, dresses and gowns for women and attired scalp and precise nails are all the standard. The celebration is also a time romanian mail order brides to bring products of wealth and presents for the bride and groom, which they collect as they leave the church and supper greeting.

After the pie is served a unique waltz known as “hora” is performed. The wedding and all female friends start to dancing. Gentlemen is join but they have to paid a small sum of money and the collected number goes to the wedding.

Close to the end of the ceremony greeting a custom is performed whereby the couple’s godmother takes off the lehenga veil. The bride is supposed to refuse and ‘ battle’ against it ( three instances at least ) and then she is lastly allowed to take off the blanket. This is to express the shift from a lady to a married woman who will take care of her father and potential toddlers.

If you are invited to a romanian bride you can expect a very extended night of dancing and enjoying. It is not unexpected for the celebration to last up to 10 periods and there are usually 4 courses plus dessert. It is very important to wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of dancers and a lot of food and drinks served. There may be special events during the party too such as the one girl who catches the bridal flower and the singly gentleman who catches the lace.
